Terms of service
Last updated 31 October 2026.
These terms govern your use of the Ceresgreen website and application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the organisation you represent.
1. The Service
Ceresgreen calculates greenhouse-gas emissions from the schedules of rates, jobs, bills, bank transactions and descriptions you provide, produces reports and reduction plans, and matches your organisation against publicly available funding schemes. We may change or improve features and will tell you about material changes.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate details, keep the email or Google account you sign in with secure, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for the people you invite into your organisation.
3. Your data
You keep all rights to the data you put into the Service. You grant us a licence to process it only to provide the Service to you. You confirm that you have the right to share it, including any schedule of rates, supplier or customer information. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
4. Accuracy of results
Emissions figures are estimates produced from the data available to us using published conversion factors and the assumptions shown in the application. Job figures are calculated from the per-unit carbon factors in the schedules of rates you upload, and are only as accurate as those factors. Results support reporting and decision-making; they do not replace professional verification where a regulation or contract requires it. Funding matches are indicative and eligibility is decided by the funder.
5. Fees
Where you subscribe to a paid plan, the fees and billing terms are those shown or agreed when you subscribe. Prices exclude VAT.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to break the law, to upload data you are not entitled to share, to probe or disrupt the Service, or to build a competing product from it. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Availability and support
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Support is available in the app and by email at hello@ceresgreen.co.uk.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
9. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time by emailing us, and we will delete your organisation's data as described in the privacy policy. We may end the agreement on 30 days' notice, or immediately for a material breach.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part is found unenforceable the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms; continued use after notice of a change means you accept it.
